Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
You have questions and we have answers. Here we will try to field the common questions that we have received over the past few months.
Question: I was waitlisted but my check is in the mail! Will I get a spot?
Answer: Yes! don't worry, we know what your application date is and can cross reference that with any payment received. If you've applied during open enrolment and all the requirements for acceptance are met, we will make sure you get a spot.
Question: When will game schedules be posted?
Answer: Typically we post game schedules 1 week before the respective tournament weekend. This gives us enough time from registration close to build the brackets, potentially find additional teams to balance brackets, and to give our referee assignor time to make sure we have referees for each and every game.
Question: When will rosters be locked?
Answer: One week before the respective tournament weekend.
Question: If I have a special schedule request, how do I ask it?
Answer: Typically we do not take special schedule requests. Because we have a limited number of fields and time slots it is almost impossible to meet every request and make everyone happy. If you have an extenuating circumstance then please contact the tournament director and we will try to be accommodating based on what is possible with the field availability. (Note: No schedules will be changed once the final schedule is posted)
Question: We missed registration but still want to play in your tournament, what can we do?
Answer: Once registration is closed any late registering teams will be placed on the wait list. If brackets are already even, then no additional teams will be accepted after registration close. However, if there are uneven brackets then the game scheduler may accept your team on a first come first serve basis. If a waitlist team does not have payment information, then they will be skipped to the next available team.
Question: How do we register a guest player?

Answer: Check our Accepted Teams List and see who has been accepted in your division.
Question: We are flying to the tournament, what time do games end on Sunday so we can schedule our return flights?
Answer: We try not to schedule any Sunday games later than 4:00 pm, which means that a safe time to schedule your flights would be after 6:00pm Sunday. If later flights are not available, please contact the tournament staff as soon as possible so that we can ensure that the schedule allows your teams to stay and play, as late schedule changes may not be possible.
Question: We are an AYSO Elite team, do we have to follow the standard AYSO roster limits?
Answer: No, AYSO Elite teams are considered Club Teams, so your roster limits are based on your current AYSO Elite roster limit. So if you are U12 with 15 players on your roster, all 15 players are allowed to play.
Question: We are a Club team and we have more kids than are allowed by your roster limits, how does that effect us?
Answer: All club teams are allowed their full roster, which means if your club allows 18 players on your roster, you can bring all 18 kids. Roster limits only apply to AYSO teams.
Question: We are a competitive team and we would like to play down in the club flight, can we?
Answer: Typically we keep club and AYSO teams separate. However, if we have enough teams to do a mixed play flight we will have a Competitive, Club and AYSO flights, where the Club flight will allow better AYSO teams to play up against Club competition, and weaker competitive teams can play down. This will be looked at as we have teams registered and brackets begin to be built up. If you are interested in playing in this mixed flight please denote so on your team application. However, mixed flights are not guaranteed as it is dependent on the total number of teams per division.
Question: Is it okay if I referee my own child's game?
Answer: No. In fact, we would prefer you do not officiate in the same division in which your child is a player. If we have unwittingly assigned you to do so, please let us know immediately.
Question: It's cold / wet. Can my child or team wear jackets?
Answer: Generally, no. The referee has final authority on this question. Referees must be able to tell teams from each other and goalkeepers from field players. Players can wear sweatshirts underneath their jersey.
Question: Do consolation games (third vs. fourth for example) on Sunday have overtime periods or kicks from the mark?
Answer: No. Only designated semi-final matches and final matches must have winners. All other games can end in ties.
Question: We have a motor home / travel trailer. Can I camp at the fields?
Answer: Camping is not allowed. During the day motor homes and trailers must be parked to minimize the use of parking spaces. Violators will be ticketed and may be towed.
Question: I lost an item. Where might it have been turned in?
Answer: Generally, lost items are turned in at the tent on the side of the field where you lost the item. Check there and also check at the Snack Bar near the parking lot.
